Bicultural Familia • Harlingen, Texas • February 2017 • Photo Album #1
Hola familia! Every month, I put together a collection of photos from our day-to-day life here in Harlingen, Texas.
I worked as a photographer for years and have always had a passion for it, but someone life catches up with you. And before you know it, you’re too busy to pursue the things you love.
So, as part of my #Fearless2017 Challenge to myself, I’m dedicating this space on my blog where I can share my photos and track my progress.
And if you want to join in and have a weekly or monthly photo album to share, please feel free to drop the link in the comments. I would love to watch your progress too!
Now…on to the photos!
We saw this gorgeous flower bush while out walking here in South Texas. I have no idea what species this is. If you do, please let us know in the comments section down below!
These gorgeous prickly pear cactus are all over our neighborhood. They haven’t bloomed yet, but you can bet I’ll snap a few pictures as soon as they do. 📷 😍
Little guy playing with some sidewalk chalk out in this warm Texas sun. Such a little cutie!
My good friend, and fellow blogger, Vianney Rodriguez, made this awesome mugs to celebrate lazy days! LOL. If you want to pick one up, you can find it here: Feelin’ Floja Mug
I saw this awesome shirt on Rabble and Rouse. So, so timely. Find them here: Rise Rebel Resist Tshirt
I did my first food photography shoot this month. Although I’ve worked as a portrait photographer in the past, I’ve never shot food photography and it’s something I’ve been wanting to get into. Here are a few of the shots I got. If you want to see them all and learn more about the food photography process, check out this post –> Getting Started in Food Photography
To practice my macro (close-up) photography a little more, I composed a few cute Valentine’s Day settings and shot a few pictures. I did one in red and one in blue. These were the best pictures of the bunch and I think they turned out really cute!
I captured some adorable photos of the kids out in the beautiful Texas sun. It’s not quite Spring yet, but here in Texas, it’s already 80°+. Here’s a few pictures of our two little explorers. ❤
Lilyana showing off her big girl muscles. 😍
Antonio relaxing in the shade. 🌴
Getting cool with some yummy chocolate ice cream. 🍦
Our big girl lost another tooth today. This one took forever to come out and she was so excited. 😊 👏
We also ordered produce from a delivery service for the first time this month. I can see this is going to be a weekly occurrence at our house. Our whole family loved the experience and the freshness of all the produce! You can read more about our experience with produce delivery in the Rio Grande Valley here: Fruit At Your Door in Harlingen Texas Review
We used the same delicious produce from Fruit At Your Door to create these delicious chicken tacos with fresh avocado salsa. They were so delicious! If you would like to try them for yourself, you can find the full recipe here: Chicken Tacos with Avocado Salsa
