Hispanicize Texas in Houston

Hispanicize Texas in Houston

I recently had an amazing trip to Houston with friend and fellow blogger, Vianney Rodriguez from Sweet Life.  We met up in Corpus and drove the next three hours to Houston together with her daughter (and up and coming foodie) Angelica.

If you’re not familiar with Hispanicize Texas, it’s a smaller local event hosted by Hispanicize, a week-long SXSW-style event for Latino influencers and entrepreneurs.

This was the first time the event has ever been hosted in Texas and the first time that they hosted an open Mercado for Latino makers.  There were so many incredible designers, crafters and creators represented, including Soy Tejana, Crafty Chica, Sew Bonita, Very That, BarbacoApparel, Tierra de los Artesanos and Chicana muralist, Mayra Zamora.

It was a small, intimate event that included many Texas influencers and some big names from outside of Texas too.  The event also included marketers, members of the media and entrepreneurs.

Meeting up with Latino Creators at Hispanicize Texas

One of the best things about Hispanicize Texas was meeting up with all of my favorite Tejanas, Latina entrepreneurs and Texas bloggers.  Below is an image of me and my friend Viky Garcia from Laredo.

Obligatory selfie with the Queen of Tex-Mex Food (@SweetLifeBake) and the Queen of Glitter (@CraftyChica).

Below are some of the items from Kathy’s (Crafty Chica’s) booth!

Tiles and totes from the @VeryThat booth!

Gorgeous tees and totes from @BarbacoApparel!

A shot of the gorgeous ice cream social setup with Kroger (@KrogerCo) and Vianney (@SweetLifeBake).

The most bomb ever blue conchas at Hispancize Texas.  Yes, they were amazing!

I redesign mine and Vianney’s business cards before the event and below are the results.  They turned out gorgeous!
