Just six summers ago, my husband and I got married. We had been dating for about two and a half years and engaged for another two and a half years before we finally tied the knot.
Some people think we waited too long, others think we didn’t wait long enough, but we personally think we did it right for us. We’re eleven years together, six years married and we have our friendship and a beautiful daughter to show for it.
In honor of our journey together, I wanted to share some of our favorite photos from that special day and our honeymoon in Michigan’s U.P. and Canada. :)
I love that our photographer caught this photo of hubby’s expression as we arrived at the alter. I love it! :)
Two of our padrinos help to put the lazo around us during the ceremony.
Red roses for La virgen de Guadalupe.
Finally announced as husband and wife.
Our cojines. We keeled on these throughout the ceremony and during communion.
Our wedding chariot. ;)
Our wedding cake: Pastel de tres leches.
Crossing the Mackinac Island Bridge into the U.P.
Hubby sitting in a lawn chair with a beautiful view.
Trucking through Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. We camped out on Lake Superior.
A quick photo of hubby relaxing at Tahquamenon Falls State Park.
Fishing on Lake Superior.
Miner’s Castle on Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore.
Finishing off our honeymoon with a day in Canada! :)
