This summer has gone by in a flash. Some years I get disappointed at how little time we seem to have for ourselves and how much time has to be devoted to work and responsibilities, but this year we made an extra effort to just relax and enjoy the great weather.
With our newest little baby on the way, it was super important to us to get in all the extra one-on-one time with mija before September.
We made extra trips to the park. Longer walks than usual. Hit up the movies. Went out for brunch. Took part in the local festivals…and more.
Best of all, since hubby is now a stay-at-home dad, mija gets to soak in all that valuable time with daddy there too. If anything, she probably spends more time with papi now than she does with me.
But I’m not complaining. She has needed that extra daddy time, and I’m so glad that hubby is home to give her all the extra attention she wants and needs.
Below are some photos from a recent trip to the park.

Obviously, mija has been loving the extra time with her papi. This is his second year as a stay-at-home dad, and I think he’s officially got it down now. ;)
He knows what to pack for trips, how to calm down a fussy toddler and all mija’s favorite play spots around town. He also knows all the rules for stroller and car seat safety…and keeps mija super safe while out and about.
That may not be a big deal to some, but for moms who struggle with letting go of the parenting reins, it puts your mind at ease when you know you don’t have to double check every step of the process…especially when it comes to the safety of your little ones.
Yay for stay-at-home dads and for moms that can relax while daddy’s “handle it”. ;)
